Tasmania
If someone tells you that Tasmania is a small state and you shouldn’t really spend too much of your trip here ... don’t listen to them.
There is more variety and beauty and excitement packed into the state’s 70,000 kilometres than in many states or even countries twice or three times as big. Spend as long as you possibly can here and, if you are into free or budget-priced camping, then spend even longer than that! The state is set up for grey nomads who like to while away their days in sometimes remote and always beautiful national park camping areas ... often at no cost.
It is a land of contrast. The island state is blessed with an amazing variety of landscapes ranging from pristine beaches and wild rivers to rocky coastlines and towering mountains. National parks like Cradle Mountain –Lake St Clair, Franklin-Gordon Wild Rivers, and Freycinet will leave a lasting impression on you. So too will the intensely atmospheric Port Arthur Historical Site and the gorgeous waterfront capital, Hobart. And the weather? Oh, just put another jumper on, will you, and enjoy the view.
Come, see and be conquered. How ever long you stay here, you’ll wish you could stay longer.
