Help Wanted in the Northern Territory!

The following is our current list of job opportunities in the Northern Territory:

Darwin region (posted 20/4/09)
Wild River has casual employment available at our aquaculture project just outside Darwin , the work is available on an ongoing basis and we can provide power for a van and showers , toilets etc. We unfortunately do not have accomodation to offer. Work is available on the farm and in our fish processing plant. Like all work of this nature a degree of fitness is required, nothing exceptional, normal active people would find no problems. The farm is well situated for people to explore all the Topend has to offer. Initial enquiries to admin@wildriver.com.au please. Details of the farm are also on the website.

Mystery Shopping is a fun way to earn extra money while you travel around Australia. We need casual Mystery Shoppers in all States for metropolitan and rural areas to report on the customer service provided by a variety of businesses including banks, service stations, food, insurance, fashion, motor vehicles etc. If you have good communications skills, an eye for detail, telephone, car and some free time during the day we have work available. It is essential you have internet access to obtain your instructions and questionnaires. Your results are then to be submitted online the same day as completing the assignment. All we need is an itinerary by email of the areas you would be visiting. Fees for assignments vary between $11 - $20 per assignment but can pay more depending on what is required. You may be able to claim some travel as a tax deduction, however we advise you seek tax advice. For more information and to apply online go to www.hoed.com.au. In your application identify yourself as a “grey nomad” or contact Yolanda on 1800 025 121 for more information.

Wanted ... Wanted … Wanted …
So you’ve retired.  You have made your contribution to the Australian economy. But wait … you can still help.
Our young people in the NT are ready and willing to get started in a trade. But our small businesses can’t afford to take them on because of the lack of experienced and skilled tradespeople to provide the necessary training and supervision. Would you like to help?  If so, ring Roger Pocock or John Emslie on 08 8982 8100.
Or Email rpocock@chambernt.com.au.

Darwin area - Organic farm
We run a small organic farm about 50km out of Darwin. We have 3 children all under 5 and often reflect that they don't get as much contact with older people as we are pretty tied to the farm and our families live interstate. We have one caravan dweller who usaully turns up every year for a few months. This has been great. It made us think there could be an opportunity for other travellers who want to pull up for a while, in exchange for some help with whatever is going on. We grow Papaya, and a range of vegetables and melons. There are also a few horses. We also share farm 1500 certified organic mango trees so there is always a picking and packing opportunity in the October period. For further information, please contact David Boehme at hu_organics@yahoo.com.au
