It’s been a marathon event but it’s come down to a sprint finish. One of the six photos below will be named the winner of the inaugural grey nomads photographic competition. One lucky winner will be carrying off the first prize of a set of Caraview towing mirrors, one lucky runner-up will be carrying off a copy of the latest edition of the Grey Nomad’s Guidebook. But, perhaps more importantly, one photo, one photographer will be feted as the champion of champions, the best of the bunch, the first among equals. But who will it be? That is where you … the voting public … comes in.
Click on the thumbnail of each of the pictures below to see a full-sized version and the comments of the judge, Steve Jones. And then it is time for you to make your choice. Cast your vote by clicking here (or on the Vote Here button on the left of this page) and emailing - either in the subject line or in the email itself - the title of your favourite photo. Only one vote from each email address will be accepted. Voting closes at midnight AEST on Sunday, August 1.

The winner will quite simply be the photo that has received the most votes and the runner-up the one with the second most votes. Winners will be announced on this website on Monday, August 2.
So, after you've enjoyed the images and cast your vote, please feel free to comment on what you think of the six final photos or on the judge’s performance on the newly created ‘The Top Six … what do you think?” thread on the forum page.
