Tents

tentI was amazed too, but we did once come across a couple of grey nomads doing the Big Lap in a tent … and they were having the time of their lives. To say it is not for everybody is probably the understatement of the year, but it is ‘doable’. So, think about it for a moment … yup, that’s long enough … now let’s get back to looking for a motorhome!

Actually the truth is that many, many grey nomads do travel with a tent. It’s just that it happens to be stashed away in deep, deep cover in case the mad urge to park the van and strike off into wild countryside strikes.

If you get out to the Bungle Bungles in Western Australia, you will find many grey nomads doing exactly that. Most enjoy this temporary return to the days of their youth and the sense of excitement and adventure it brings. But boy, you can bet that they’re over the moon to get back to the luxuries of their own rig afterwards.
