Summer is well and truly here … and it’s shaping up to be an absolute sizzler! Heatwave warnings are current for large parts of WA, the NT and Queensland … with temperatures climbing into the low to mid 40s across the north.
While most grey nomads aren’t travelling in the tropics at the moment, the meteorological message is still unmistakable … make sure you’re prepared for soaring temperatures. And technology is making that ever easier to do.
For example, an increasing number of travellers are turning to the Sirocco II fan to help them keep their cool … and with good reason.
The product, specifically designed for RV use, features a unique gimbal design offering 360° directional airflow.
Basically, users can adjust the fan to blow air in absolutely any direction they choose … a huge bonus as you move round the van at various stages of the day. Made by Canadian company, SEEKR by Caframo, the 12V/24V auto-sensing Sirocco II draws 0.35A on 12V on its highest setting.
It has been designed to last for thousands of hours of continuous run time in the most demanding of conditions. SEEKR by Caframo says it has carried out extensive testing to ensure the fan performs at a high level over extended periods off-grid.
Space-conscious grey nomads will be delighted to hear that, when not in use, the fan can be folded flat against the wall. Equally important for travellers trying to get some sleep on those sweltering nights, the Sirocco II is whisper quiet … 54 decibels when on its highest setting.
The fan has three speeds (1200, 1500, 1800 RPM), four timer settings (3, 6, 9, and 12 hours), and comes with a two-year warranty.
The manufacturers say the Sirocco II is an ‘absolute gamechanger’ for grey nomads and others seeking extra comfort in the van … and they could well be right! The Sirocco II Is now available at multiple retail outlets in all states, as well as the Northern Territory.
