We purchased a new 2024 MU-X LSU to do a circular trip of Australia. It is only 4 1/2 months old. Based on my experience driving Trans-Africa safaris (over 27,000 km) and off roading in Canada and the USA, I had the Isuzu MU-X prepared with many modifications and upgrades so that the SUV could handle all types of conditions. I had the factory tyres replaced with (wider & taller) A/T Falken Wildpeak LT 285/65/18 tyres. I wanted an all terrain tyre that could handle a good mixture of conditions with little wear. These tyres have over performed in mud, sand, rain, on rock, clay and other conditions. They have minimal wear.
These A/T Falken Wildpeak LT combined with the with the NSW Certified – Pedders GVM suspension upgrade gives the Isuzu an extra (height) clearance of approx 4 – 5 cm and the extra payload required. The MU-X’s performance has surpassed my expectations. Fuel consumption both on and off the road averages between 7.4 – 7.7 litre/100 km. You can literally just hop in this MU-X and depart on your great adventure.
