Civil Inspector (Cunnamulla, Quilpie or Goondiwindi), Qld

Looking to see South West QLD up close and live in a regional area? This role is perfect for someone looking to transition to a grey nomad lifestyle as it is expected that these projects will be mostly completed by June 2023. It’s also great for anyone that has construction or plant operating experience looking for a change – so please share with your sons, daughters, friends and family.

We are looking for a Civil Inspector/s to undertake inspections of natural disaster restoration work associated with recent events in South-Western Queensland. We have built a strong reputation within regional communities delivering these works with current projects for Goondiwindi Regional Council, Quilpie Shire Council, Paroo Shire Council and Western Downs Regional Council.

Working within our Regional Projects team, this is a project position, with an immediate start. Civil Inspectors report directly to our onsite Project Managers; Geoff Rintoul, Cameron Mocke & Peter Collins who are supported by our Regional Projects Manager, David Bell.

The beauty of this role is getting to see the project through from start to finish. You are not only involved in the damage pick up, but also the construction phase. You are involved with the local contractors and community and get to see these roads restored to their pre-flood condition (or with the help of Betterment funding, an even better condition).

Main duties of this role include:

  • Undertake road inspections to identify and record damage for Queensland Reconstruction Authority funding submission applications,
  • On-site coordination and resolution of issues to ensure Council civil works crews and external civil contractors deliver to Quality Standards and agreed timeframes,
  • Continuously maintain and enhance Proterra Group’s relationships with the client and community by consistently providing a high level of service.

Permanent relocation to these areas is not necessary, as FIFO/DIDO arrangement is available with a vehicle and accommodation provided (should you not be a grey nomad).

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

To be considered for this role, you must have experience in a civil construction environment, a current manual driver’s license (no restrictions) and a general construction white card.

You will be required to use a computer and tablet daily, so a sound level of computer literacy and familiarisation of android tablets is also necessary. If you have experience with Asset Edge software (Recover), even better.

RENUMERATION

For the right candidate, Proterra Group is offering an hourly rate of $70 – $80 (plus superannuation).

The remuneration package also includes:

  • Provision of a work vehicle and accommodation whilst on rotation,
  • Relocation assistance should you wish to relocate to the region you are working in.
  • Paid travel to and from your base to work, and
  • Living away from home allowances.
