Father and son want to farm-sit, maintain, and/or help repair/upgrade a property, pref. away from the coast in south-west QLD, north-west NSW, south-east Sth. Australia or thereabouts. We are available long-term. Interested in hydro/aquaponics, organic gardening/permaculture, etc. Also want to look into the Kratky Hydroponic Method (we have some of the gear for this): suspended net pot non circulating. A farm (group/communal/alone) or remote property with a good work/storage/shade shed for our caravan, & space for 2 cars would be great.
I am a landscape artist (oils & acrylics) and former community art teacher and would be happy to contribute in that regard. We can help in the maintenance/restoration/security of a property (fencing, building, roofing, veg gardens, landscaping, weeding, concreting, fire protection, & security patrols) if needed. We can look after plants, animals, in exchange for site rental.
We recently spent 6 years in Tassy improving a property: cleaning, removing Blackberry using goats; building small sheds & fencing; upgrading security; house repairs; property water supply maintenance; raised garden beds with composting & mulching; raising ferrets, rabbits, chooks, ducks & goats.
We’re looking for an opportunity where we could volunteer to work the land.
