What: working travellers looking to houseist / rent your place while you travel.

Hello! My partner and I are on a lap of Aus but have decided to stop and work in Perth for 6-12 months because we love WA and need a break from full time travel. It’s a long shot but we have heard of other lappers / travellers not wanting to leave their home unattended, but also not wanting to go through the official rental process for a short time.. so we thought there may be a mutually beneficial scenario in which we ‘housesit’ while you travel! I put housesit in quotations as we would be paying rent and bills ☺️ we’re flexible on location (within 1-2hrs of Perth) and relatively flexible on dates, but looking to be settled somewhere by February 2025. Ideally we’re looking for something for a minimum of 3 months, as we need that time to either secure a rental or find a property to purchase. However, if there was an option for a longer period (8-14 months) we would be very interested in making this work. We would also be very happy to look after any pets but we do have 2 of our own (below). We understand the realities of travelling and rest assured if you needed to come home early we would understand and do have friends we could stay with etc.
A bit about us:
I’m Abby (29,F) and work remotely for NSW Government. My partner will be doing FIFO mechanic work. We do have a 4 year old cat and 6 year old border collie. Both are exceptionally well trained and get along with other animals. I have university level animal ethics qualifications and was a RSPCA foster carer for 2 years so well experienced in caring for animals etc. We would be able to provide rental references, housesit references, and proof of income.
