Kernewek Lowender Copper Coast Cornish Festival

Location: Wallaroo, Moonta and Kadina

May 12 - May 18, 2025

Kernewek Lowender means ‘Cornish Happiness’ and this is apparently what Cornish migrants discovered when they migrated to the Copper Coast. This beinnial festival is a celabration of the traditions, culture, and heritage of those Cornish settlers. Approximately 45,000 people come to join in on the festivities. Last time out,  hundreds  dressed as Cornish Jacks and Jennies, thousands of Cornish pasties were consumed, and crowds filled streets for the spectacle that is the maypole and furry dancing. Other highights included the  Cavalcade of Cars & Motorcycles,  the Gathering of the Bards, and the Dressing of the Graves.
