The Bruce Highway has now re-opened after a car and caravan rolled over and burst into flames earlier today.
The road was closed for several hours after the accident at Ogmore, about 20 kilometres north of Marlborough.
The occupants are understood have got out of the vehicle before it ‘exploded’. The Morning Bulletin newspaper reports they have been taken to Rockhampton Hospital with unknown injuries.
Both the car and caravan were completely destroyed.
Police are said to be investigating whether a tyre blew, causing the caravan and car to leave the road and roll.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services say the grass fires, which took hold after the vehicles exploded, have now been extinguished and fire crews are in the process of mopping up.
The incident caused major traffic disruption.
