A new privately operated caravan park with 100-plus sites has moved a step closer to becoming a reality.
A development application by Funtime Investments, which has been before Goulburn Mulwaree Council for two years, has now negotiated earlier planning and environmental hurdles.
The company wants to build 64 short-term caravan sites in Common Street, as well as 41 leased long term ones. It also plans a manager’s residence and reception area, plus amenities to serve the development.
In a report to the council meeting, Council’s Development Control manager, Richard Davies, and Planning and Community Services manager, Chris Stewart, recommended a 60/40 split between short-term and long-term sites.
The council has deferred final approval of the plan as is and seeks reassurances over a number of issues. Council officers said the three-stage proposed development, with two long-term site areas being completed before the short-term stage, could be an issue.
“The risk is that stage three may never eventuate,” they said.
They want Funtime to further revise its staging plan.
Aparently its approved.
I’m putting the lay back through the kerb for the driveway at the councils request this week.
