The ongoing issue of opportunistic thefts from unwary campers has again reared its ugly head.
Police in the northern New South Wales community of Kingscliff are hunting thieves who stole alcohol from two caravan fridges.
The Tweed Daily News reports that the booze was stolen from from campers at the Kingscliff Beach Holiday Park some time on Saturday night,.
A police spokesperson said officers would be reviewing all CCTV footage within the park to try and identify the offenders.
“Police are asking campers to ensure all their property is safely secured,” the spokesperson said.
The Tweed Daily News reports that the thefts come as the Kingscliff community continues to battle an onslaught of crime, which has seen a significant increase in thefts from motor vehicles and homes.
Lucky they didnt take the fridge. We had one stolen from a zipped up annex when we were in Perth a few years ago. Lucky my husband had drunk all his beer but they stole my bottle of wine, some steak and my brussel sprouts.
Yes we have !!
Our whole fridge went!! They unplugged the power & carried it off! !
What a sick feeling was left in our gut.
We were in a van park in Coffs Harbour nsw
We saw teens run off with an esky from a friends annex late one night, and couldn’t catch em…So we left some “beer” bottles out for them the next few nights, in a strategically placed old esky…except the bottles weren’t filled with just “beer”….revenge is wonderful….:) 🙂 🙂 🙂
My son had his big blue esky stolen from Swansea caravan park a few years ago. It was right outside his camper trailer under the annex we were next to him and all heard nothing. We found an empty esky a short distance away
