A 72-year-old caravanner has been airlifted to hospital after his vehicle was in collision with a Mack prime mover.
The accident happened on the Newell Highway at Alectown, just north of Parkes, in New South Wales.
Police say the man sustained multiple injuries including severed toes and suspected spinal injuries when his Nissan Patrol 4WD, with caravan in tow, collided with the truck on Tuesday afternoon.
Emergency services attended and removed the driver before he was airlifted to Orange Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
The 54-year-old driver of the truck was breath tested by police at the scene. He returned a negative result.
Central West Police District detectives attended the scene and the car and truck were towed for mechanical examination.
