WA will still open borders to NSW and Vic tomorrow

Published: December 7, 2020

Western Australia’s border is set to reopen to New South Wales and Victoria tomorrow as scheduled.

The state’s Premier Mark McGowan has announced the border reopening is to go ahead with the 14-day quarantine period dropped for those coming from both NSW and Victoria.

The planned opening had been thrown into question after a Sydney quarantine hotel cleaner tested positive to Covid last week. However, no locally acquired cases have been recorded in NSW following the case.

“It is very pleasing to know that no further cases have been identified over the past five days,” Mr McGowan said. “I want to acknowledge and thank everyone for their patience and understanding.”

The premier also announced that from Friday, travellers from South Australia will no longer require exemptions to enter the state. They will though still need to quarantine for 14 days.

Realistically that most grey nomads will either have to travel west through the NT, or be prepared to quarantine on arrival in WA.

No we will not as we don’t trust him in his little kingdom, he is likely to close the border again after a state having 1 case. This just got to stop

Stay where you are Sarbi. We here in Western Australia are quite happy.
Seems to me that only you wise people from the East are the ones who are unhappy that Western Australia is being so well managed.

Well said Rob Jones, they just don’t get it over there. They do get (and like) the GST bit though, that we feed them with but !

A bit of friendly rivalry is ok…!

But some petty comments seem a bit childish.

Who wants to read about people who always have a chip on their shoulder.

Try and enjoy life a bit, relax and stay happy. Cheers.
