Always usf axle stands. For $70 they could save your life
Always put something higher than yourself under van so if it falls it wont crush you. I also put multiple jacks in place before I climb under and never never trust hydraulics Stevo.
Both Ron and Paul are “on the Money”
NEVER; climb under a vehicle if it is on a jack. NEVER.
If changing a wheel/tyre on the road, always put the spare; and or the flat under the side of the vehicle for just in case the jack fails.
Always “chock” the opposite wheel prior to jacking.
Safety triangles are a good investment, place out to warn oncoming traffic (traffic coming up behind you), and employ the navigator as a “spotter” – for “just in case”
Some of the above is not relevant to home based jacking etc, but may be useful for travelling situations.
Hope this may help.
Regards.
Hetho.
What Ron and Paul said … plus never rest the van/car right on top of bricks as they can crumble very easily. If you don’t have anything else, at the very least place a timber plank on top of the bricks to spread the load.
I always put the stabiliser lugs down plus use jack stands as an added safety measure.
Never trust a jack. Use axle stands.
Ive got a friend “Jack”……I can trust him..!
Check check & check again. Life too precious to make such mistakes. Wishing him a speedy recovery.
