Elderly caravanner recovering in hospital after horrific rollover

The 80-year-old man who suffered serious facial injuries when his caravan rolled over in WA’s south west yesterday is still recovering in hospital.

The West Australian reports that the man is in a stable condition at Perth’ Fiona Stanley Hospital.

The elderly’ s man’s caravan was completely obliterated when it rolled on the South Western Highway just outside Harvey on Saturday morning.

The RAC rescue helicopter was deployed to transport the man to Fiona Stanley Hospital in Murdoch

The West Australian reports that his female passenger — also in her 80s — was taken to Harvey Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

All vehicle accidents are terrible. If you want to ride a motor bike you need a special license same with larger trucks and buses but no training at all to tow a 3 tonne caravan. Most jobs today involve a barrage of inductions and testing , but none to tow a van. How many hours does a driver on a learners permit need before they can get a license ? None at all to tow a van !!!!
