This unique and practical cattle industry charity initiative is designed to support the many thousands of Queenslanders who are experiencing food insecurity and hunger every day … and it’s going to be a lot of fun, as well. The plan is for professional drovers and paying supporters on horseback to drove 2,000 head of donated cattle, from Longreach to Roma with plenty of stops and entertainment along the way.
The drive kicks off with a concert in Longreach, and the cattle will travel along desigated stock routes to Muttaburra, Aramac, Ilfracombe, Barcaldine, and Blackall. Each town along the way will be hosting community events.
Guests will also join the drive along the way, with campfire meals and campfire entertainment for each of the 41 nights. Organisers say they would love to have some grey nomads stop in for dinner and join in our stories and fun.
