The eagerly-anticipated CelticFest Warwick is set to draw plenty of visitors to the attractive Queensland town from October 3-5.
And, despite the presence of some fierce-looking characters in kilts, grey nomads are being assured they are especially welcome.
Event coordinator, Pamela Clark-Dickson, told the Grey Nomads that the weekend, centred at the Warwick Showgrounds, offers something for everyone.
“It includes music on two stages all day on both days, Highland Games, a living medieval village to stroll through, medieval knights in single combat and pitched battles, handfasting ceremonies, and gorgeous highland cows from our very own local Keans Agri Leyburn Highland Stud,” Ms Clark-Dickson said.

There will also be a family ceilidh (bush dance), horse displays, workshops in Celtic dance, language and songs; and Celtic-themed markets, and plenty of food offerings.
And, if all that is not enough, visitors will also have the chance wander through a number of open historical houses, and to meet internationally-renowned Australian poet Rupert McCall at the poet’s breakfast.
“Grey nomads can truly make a long weekend of their visit to Warwick for CelticFest,” said Ms Clark-Dickson.
“We are very much looking forward to plenty of travellers joining the celebration of our region’s rich Celtic heritage.”
Organisers say there has been a tremendous response to onsite camping at the Warwick Showgrounds, which means it has already sold out.
However, they say there are several other caravan parks and campgrounds in and around Warwick and the Southern Downs.
