A 64-year-old woman who was travelling around Australia with her husband has been killed after falling out of the back of her moving motorhome.
It is believed that Maria Assunta Shepherd may have been attempting to secure a partially opened door when she fell from the motorhome’s living quarters onto the Great Eastern Highway, near Hines Hill, about 240 kilometres east of Perth. Her husband, Allan, was behind the wheel at the time.
The couple from Maroochydore, Queensland, are the creators of OzPig, a portable barbecue cooker and pot belly stove. They had been travelling around, showing their product at a succession of shows and expos.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
