They call the grey nomad lifestyle ‘living the dream’ for a reason.
When you’ve got a comfortable rig with all reasonable mod cons, can enjoy a different million dollar view every day, have an endless supply of new friends to make, and don’t have any real schedule … it can be tough to see how life on the road can get too much better.
So, what is it that grey nomads really need, but haven’t quite realised it yet?
The answer, it seems, could be a portable hot tub!
Australian-founded company, Joolca, which specialises in developing products offering home comforts for outdoor pursuits, has seen a gap in the market and reckons it’s going to make quite a splash.
Its all-new HOTTUB is lightweight and compact and can be unrolled and inflated in a matter of minutes. It packs down to just 76cm in x 44cm x 28cm, so it is definitely viable for luxury-loving travellers to find a space in their van for it.
The hot tub is designed to integrate with Joolca’s HOTTAP water heater and, once connected, it fills in under two hours. The HOTTAP will maintain hot water circulation for as long as needed, and there is an insulated cover to maintain temperature in between soaks
As a standalone option, the HOTTUB can serve as a non-heated plunge pool for hot days.
The inflatable hot tub can accommodate two people and is constructed from the same ultra-durable material used in stand-up paddle boards. It features a reinforced insulated double-layer PVC floor and sidewalls for rigidity and durability.
Joolca founder, Maciek Slodyczka, says she hopes the product will ‘help people realise there is always time for a good soak’.
“The HOTTUB is something that we think is going to bring that extra layer of comfort to the outdoors,” said “We’ve paid special attention to detail in terms of durability and ease of use to work cohesively within our system of products.”
The Joolca HOTTUB sells for $799.
