Man suffers facial burns when caravan explodes at NSW campsite

A man was seriously injured when his caravan exploded at a campsite in southern New South Wales.

The 38-year-old suffered facial burns and was taken to Wagga Wagga Base Hospital, before being airlifted to a Sydney hospital for further treatment.

The man, who lives in the ACT, was visiting the Sandy Beach campsite just outside Wagga Wagga with his family when the vehicle erupted into flames on Sunday evening.

Police he was in the caravan collecting his phone when the vehicle exploded. The caravan was fully destroyed in the blaze.

Police said the explosion was an accident and is not being treated as suspicious.

For stories like this to be of any value to caravaners, the reporter needs to research the accident and educate the readers.
Was the fire a gas leak, battery explosion?

It maybe we worth waiting untill this information is available before publishing to the website and linking it to Facebook.

Or else it’s seems more like clickbait.
