Being in the wrong place at the wrong time has ended the Big Lap dream of one young family before it had really begun … but things could have been a lot, lot worse.
A couple and their two children had only just set out on their long-dreamed-of trip around Australia when a small truck reportedly crossed onto the wrong side of the Princes Highway at Cockwhy in New South Wales and struck their vehicle
The family were less than 100 kilometres away from their home in Nowra.
NSW Ambulance said a woman aged in her 30s, her husband and two children were taken to Batemans Bay Hospital with minor injuries and were later discharged.
The South Coast Register also reports that the driver of the truck was taken to Milton Hospital with an arm and hand injury.
The family’s four-wheel drive and caravan were badly damaged in the accident, and the remnants were eventually taken away on a truck.
And you think your having a bad day, I feel for the poor buggers just terrible. Stevo.
How dreadful and devestating for the family.
Hope they’re all going to be ok.
It was all very quiet and calm
