A caravanning couple are recovering in hospital after surviving a horror crash on Western Australia’s Brand Highway.
The West Australian newspaper reports that a 59-year-old man and his wife were travelling along Orange Springs Road east of Lancelin when they came to the Brand Highway intersection. A Volvo truck travelling north towards Geraldton collided with the side of the couple’s Holden Jackaroo, causing it and the caravan they were towing to roll on the driver’s side.
The newspaper reports that the man was trapped in his car for more than an hour before firefighters were able to cut him cut him from the wreckage. He was airlifted to the Royal Perth Hospital where he is now said to be “unwell but stable”.
The man’s wife got out of the car unassisted and was consoled by passers-by on the side of the road.
Neither she, nor the truck driver, were seriously injured in the accident.

We have traveled that highway many times and have seen some vehicles doing Supersonic speeds in places,
It’s a good new highway but, it’s not a Speedway,

Just because you are in the middle of nowhere, concentration must be maintained at all times, as you never know when things can go pear-shaped.
