28-Acre Caravan Retreat & Hobby Farm | Ozzy As, Northern Territory
We are looking for a long-term caretaker couple (12 months or more) to become part of our family environment and help care for our 28-acre caravan retreat and hobby farm.
Our caravan park is 10 sites only and is mainly operational during the NT dry season (April–October), which is when the property is at its busiest, most social and full of outdoor activities and travellers passing through.
Daily & Weekly Responsibilities Include:
Collecting animal food twice per week and sorting.
Daily feeding of a handful of pigs, chooks, one buffalo and a friendly emu.
Light outdoor and property jobs depending on skills, such as:
Mowing lawns, maintaining gardens, facilities maintenance, machine operation and basic maintenance.
Vehicle repairs and restoration work (including multiple FJ & FX Holdens).
Tasks are varied and flexible depending on your experience and interests.
Lifestyle & Community:
As part of running the caravan retreat, we regularly host campfires, casual events/dinners, free meals, buggy rides and bus trips to local taverns. You are welcome to join in and also assist with these if desired, or simply enjoy the relaxed community atmosphere.
Our property also features a beautiful, safe, large swimming hole for cooling off with a large deck for relaxing and enjoying the rural lifestyle.
This property is fully secure and fully fenced with a locked gate with many large open spaces for relaxing. There are also multiple sheds including a car hoist, freezers and cool rooms.
(Unfortunately, no pets are allowed due to our farm animals.)
What’s On Offer:
Free separate accommodation with free power and water in a large, air-conditioned, furnished open-plan bedroom and lounge, that also includes your own kitchen and semi-private bathroom and laundry facilities. Free WI-FI is also available within some places on the block.
There is an undercover carport suitable for your caravan and car, and we will provide you with a vehicle inclusive of fuel for farm duties.
Also included will often be some free meat, fresh eggs, fruit and vegetables, bread and pantry items.
The Ideal Couple:
This opportunity would ideally suit a retired couple, looking for a 12-month or longer arrangement, who are happy to support a caravan retreat that is primarily busy during the dry season (April–October), and that is centrally located to all of Top Ends main tourist attractions such as Litchfield National Park, Kakadu National Park, Adelaide River, Berry Springs and Darwin.
We are looking for a couple who can comfortably fit into our family environment and who are social, easy-going and community-minded, that enjoy rural living, outdoor work and meeting travellers within a social environment.
Start:
This position is available to start immediately, preferably on or before start of April 2026.
