Cheela Plains Station; Pilbara region, WA

Cheela Plains Station is a family owned and managed working cattle station nestled in the semi-arid, pastoral rangelands of the Pilbara in northern Western Australia. Our station-stay is a welcome stop for travellers on the Nanutarra-Munjina Road between the World Heritage listed Ningaloo Reef and Karijini National Park.

We offer shady campsites, room accommodation, a grass oval, large firepit, café, restaurant, ablutions, plenty of drinking water and 4WD trails. Access to the station is 1km off the highway on an unsealed road. This road is 2WD accessible and well maintained.

We have both powered and unpowered camp sites at our Red Plains Campground located at the main station stay. We also offer wilderness camping at three locations for those wanting to venture out off the beaten track.

For room accommodation we offer:

  • King Single Rooms with shared facilities
  • Double Rooms with shared facilities
  • Queen Ensuite Rooms
  • Family Ensuite Rooms

All rooms come with light breakfast.

For dinner we have 2 Estonian Chefs that prepare a delicious main course & dessert Thursday-Tuesday. Guests do need to book dinner in advance as we have limited seating.

On Wednesdays we have our Burger Night, where we cook burgers over the campfire.

Our café operates daily, 7:30-2:30 and sells barista coffee, tea, cold drinks, cakes, and savoury items.

Guests that stay in the campground two or more nights, and in a room one or more night get complimentary access to the 4X4 Self-Drive Safari. The safari offers exploring, walking trails and swimming.

We also offer walking trails accessible from the station stay.
