Experience the Flinders Ranges and the Outback with a station stay at Coonatto Station. Coonatto Station is a family owned and operated 14,000-acre sheep and cattle grazing property nestled in the Flinders Ranges about 300km north of Adelaide.
As you enter the station property you will be greeted by a picturesque all year-round natural spring and a beautiful gum creek, the perfect place for a picnic and a space for the kids to play. Coonatto Station was established in 1840, and therefore, holds a wealth of history, explore the many ruins and remnants of an old train line, just ask the owners who would be more than happy to tell a story or two.
We offer accommodation in our fully contained shearer’s quarters, and several secluded un-powered campsites, all equipped with long drop toilets and a fire pit.
There is plenty of space to kick back and enjoy the sunrises and sunsets followed by a beautiful nights sky filled with stars.
We also have 2WD tracks with breath taking views 480 metres above sea level.
Coonatto is also located within a hours drive of surrounding towns including Carrieton, Hawker, Melrose, Orroroo and Quorn, making it the ideal location for an afternoon’s drive during your stay.
