Take a trip into an adventure with a unique outback glamping experience in the heart of the spectacular Karijini National Park. Karijini Eco Retreat is one of Australia’s leading eco-tourism attractions, situated 1,500 kilometres north of Perth in Western Australia’s second-largest national park. The retreat offers safari-style eco tents, cabins and campsites nestled in beautiful bushland at the edge of Joffre Gorge (Jijingunha), along with a popular outback restaurant and bar, camp bush kitchens with barbeques, a kiosk supplying snacks and souvenirs, guided tours, and access to the Park’s walks and hiking trails. Stay under the stars in the campground, or in comfortable glamping accommodation, while experiencing a taste of genuine mateship and friendly hospitality.
The retreat offers a range of eco tents. The most premium accommodation type, the Luxury Eco Tent, features king beds with hotel-quality bedding and linen (option to add sofa bed), a lounge area, a mini fridge, and tea and coffee-making facilities. There is a fully enclosed private ensuite bathroom with a flushing toilet, a solar hot water shower and basin, luxury bathroom amenities, cotton towels, and a hairdryer. The tent also has an in-room safe, a front deck with a table and chairs, double sliding glass entry doors, canvas walls and roof, and large zip-down windows. Solar power operates the individual air-conditioning/heating, ceiling fan, lights, and power points.
Karijini Eco Retreat’s Campsites are unpowered and suitable for tents, campervans and caravans. Camping features include shared bathroom facilities with flushing toilets and solar hot water showers, and an undercover bush kitchen with gas barbeque, sink, preparation area, and seating for those looking to self-cater.
Karijni is a wonderland of ancient, natural landscapes formed more than two billion years ago. You’ll find yourself awestruck by the labyrinth of plunging chasms and towering waterfalls. Spend your days fuelled by adventure, exploring breathtaking gorges and slot canyons, swimming in turquoise waterholes, marvelling at wildflowers and wildlife, and indulging in delicious food and wine. The multi-award-winning Karijini Eco Retreat is 100% Aboriginal-owned by Gumala Enterprises, proudly representing the Banjima, Yinhawangka and Nyiyaparli people of the Pilbara region.
