Paperbark Bush Camp is a private bush camp set in Nature’s Paradise. A beautiful tranquil place to escape and catch your breath.
Set amongst the trees and green grassy paddocks, you can’t help but relax and unwind. There’s an array of wildlife. Thriving bird life, kangaroos, green tree frogs. Take an easy bush walk on the property’s 108 acres, if you’re quiet you may just come across an echidna, monitor lizards or even an emu. Watch the birds take a flying dip in the dam on a sunny afternoon and the King parrots come for a feed. Enjoy magic hour sunsets sitting around your own open fire place. Get back to nature in this Australian bush setting the comfortable way with the creature comforts of clean fresh facilities.
Unlike the usual busy caravan parks, we offer a peaceful bush camping setting. For off-grid camp spots there is plenty of space and you can choose where you’d like to camp. Even the powered sites have enough space to park a couple of vans. No backing up required with an easy drive through on the powered sites.
The surface areas are all flat and suitable for camping, camper trailers, caravans and motorhomes. No 4WD is needed to get here.

Amenities
We have both powered and off-grid sites.
Tap into fresh clean natural spring potable water on a powered site.
Bring your jerry cans to fill up on site if you’re camping in the off-grid zones.
There is a fish cleaning area with filleting bench and hose available for all to use.
The facilities are clean and fresh with three amenities buildings having a total of 2 hot showers and 7 flushing toilets. Also enjoy a cool shower at one of the 4 outside showers in summer to rinse off when you get back from the beach.
We also have a laundry room with washing machine and clothes lines.
Situated
Baffle Creek is off the beaten track, located 100km north of Bundaberg on the Discovery Coast. Baffle Creek is a pristine river system barely touched by infrastructure with only a few small coastal towns in the area. There are conservation parks on both sides of the waterway. In this protected habitat there are mangrove forests, an incredible array of marine creatures and a thriving birdlife. The mighty Baffle basin covers 410,471 Hectares and boasts the most amazing fishing, crabbing and prawning.
5.9km to Rules Beach. 2.7km to Flat rock boat ramp on Baffle Creek. 73km to Seventeen Seventy. 33km to Agnes Water. 13km to local shops (Bottle shop, fuel, hardware store, takeaway food, pub and convenience store). 20km to Deepwater National Park. 12km to Baffle Creek Golf course.
Bring your surfboard or bodyboard because there are waves to be caught at Rules Beach, 1770 and Agnes Water.
Beach 4wd driving on the low tide if conditions are right with access at Rules Beach.
You can hire Kayaks at Flat Rock Boat ramp on Baffle Creek or bring your own.
Check out the fantastic markets on the weekends, there always seems to be one happening within a 100km radius.
If you feel like a drive, the country roads are a breeze to coast along being mostly tar and no traffic with much nature to take in on the way. There are many quaint little old towns to explore.
