Here we go again!

With growing concern over the spread of Covid-19 in some parts of the country,  Queensland has announced it is to close its borders with New South Wales and the ACT again.

The new restrictions will come into force from 1am on Saturday.

Queenslanders who return from visiting NSW or the nation’s capital after that time will be sent to mandatory hotel quarantine for 14 days at their own expense.

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said she was increasingly concerned about community transmission rates in southern states.

“We cannot risk a second wave. We have to act decisively,” she said. “We have to put Queenslanders first.”

The announcement comes as Queensland recorded one new case of coronavirus overnight.

A 68-year-old woman has been diagnosed with the virus and authorities are still investigating the source of the infection.

The latest clampdown on travel is another reminder to grey nomads of just how quickly things can change, and how unpredictable life in the road can be during these uncertain times.

  1. So a few idiots behaving badly stuff it up for many others. Welcome to the modern self-centred world.

  2. Hope not too many of small business operators go bankrupt or worse over this stupidity ,all Queensland needs is a new premier.
