The elderly couple who went missing in Western Australia’s Karijini National Park have been found alive. The pair survived a night out in the cold after becoming separated from their bushwalking group near Circular Pool.
Police said the married couple were with a group of six people, including two park rangers, when they decided to separate to walk at their own pace. The 74-year-old woman and the 76-year-old man are now being medically assessed.
The man was found first and then, several hours afterwards, searchers found the woman with cuts and bruises and slightly dehydrated but otherwise in good spirits. The man is believed to be in a stable condition.
More than 20 officers and emergency services volunteers helped to search the area with the use of a helicopter. Email us here with your views on this story.
