A woman has been attacked by a crocodile at a wildlife park near Townsville.
The 25-year-old was at Billabong Sanctuary at Nome when she was attacked. It is believed she was a crocodile handler employed at the park.
Queensland Ambulance says the woman suffered a “significant arm injury” but was conscious and breathing.
Paramedics apparently also treated eight people on scene for shock.
Last week, a different crocodile, measuring 4.7 metres, was released into the sanctuary after it was captured swimming close to beaches at Townsville.
I think being ignorant an foolhardy comes in all shapes sizes and ages , It never ceases to amaze me how people see a sign warning of crocs or travel to to areas where crocs frequent and paddle , swim wash and throw sticks in the water for their dogs to fetch and the howl like it’s the crocs fault they get bitten . Wake up like speeding , drinking and driving is bad for your health so is putting your self in water where crocs live , in all the yrs we lived within metres of crocs we never lost a dog or a person to a croc and never heard of one attacking a person inside a house , travel in these areas or move to these areas and respect the wild life and act responsible or travel to where there are no crocs MAKE SENSE ?
