The WA Government is pulling out all the stops as it tries to lure grey nomads and other travellers back after last year’s unprecedented weather events which caused chaos across the state’s north west.
It has just revealed details of its ‘Kimberley Season Pass’ which offers a range of consumer travel incentives including 50% off Kimberley tours and experiences (when booked through the Broome and Kununurra Visitor’s Centre), along with $100 off stays at Kimberley caravan and holiday parks.
The Government says the ‘Pass’ – which also offers discounted air fares – is another step towards full recovery.
Tourism Minister Rita Saffioti urged all tourists to consider including a trip to the Kimberley as part of their travel plans this year – and she hopes the release of the ‘Pass’ will help.

“It comes only a few months after we reached a really important milestone in the flood recovery, with the opening of the new Fitzroy River Bridge more than six months ahead of schedule,” she said. “An incredible achievement by all involved.”
And Kimberley MLA, Divina D’Anna, was confident the $2.8 million initiative would have an impact.
“These competitive rates on tours, experiences, accommodation, and airfares will make it easier than ever for Western Australians, and out-of-state visitors to travel and experience all our incredible region has to offer,” she said. “With so many incredible unique natural attractions and cultural experiences, we look forward to welcoming visitors from across the country to take advantage of these discounts and support the Kimberley tourism sector.”

i rang broome tourism to check availability for the broome to broome 9 day cruise and was told initially all booked out for the season but the operator checked further and rang back to advise there is in fact vacancies , ??? This is because the tour operater has different booking numbers available compared to the tourist office ???
Also there is no free camping in broome anymore and camping spaces at the van park on the beachfront are reduced as part of the park is closed for an upgrade..
I’m doing an anticlockwise 1/2 lap in June and should be in the Kimberly’s around July/August
