A British garbage collector could not believe his eyes when he went to collect a skip ordered by a customer and found an old caravan dumped on top of it.
Apparently, the environmental services company that rented the skip out says it gave the customer a list of banned items … but failed to mention unwanted caravans!.
Garbage collector, Tyrone Covell, told British media he couldn’t stop laughing when he saw that the customer had managed to heave the caravan onto the skip, ready for collection.
“I’ve seen items such as a wedding dress and an empty coffin but a caravan in a skip is a new one to me,’ he said. “But when you come to think of it, at least it’s one less on the roads, making Sunday driving a little easier.”
Melissa Hodges of GD Environmental Services said there was no other rubbish in the skip and it appeared it was hired just for the caravan.
“We gave them a quite an obvious list with all the things people sometimes put in there but shouldn’t,” she said. “But, of course, we didn’t say you can’t put a caravan in there as it’s blatantly obvious you can’t put a caravan in a skip.”
