The newly upgraded Upper Falls Visitor Precinct at Ebor Falls on the New England tablelands has re-opened.
The infrastructure around the falls in the Guy Fawkes River National suffered significant damage in the 2019–20 bushfires.
However, as part of a $5.5 million upgrade project, the Upper Falls Visitor Precinct now features two brand new wheelchair accessible viewing platforms, new wheelchair-accessible pathways, and an expanded and upgraded car park.
The car park can now accommodate 25 vehicles, including two dedicated disabled parking bays, as well as designated spaces for caravans, trailers, and motorhomes.

The precinct’s visitor amenities have also been upgraded, with flushing toilets and 3 new picnic shelters equipped with gas barbecues available on site, providing a comfortable setting for families and friends to relax and enjoy the scenic surroundings.
The 700-metre Ebor Village Walking Track has been resurfaced, allowing visitors to easily stroll from the Upper Falls Visitor Precinct to the charming Ebor township and back.
The final component of the $5.5 million upgrade – the Lower Falls precinct – is expected to be completed in April 2024.
The upgraded Lower Falls precinct will feature two new lookouts, picnic shelters, amenities, and an upgraded concrete pathway between the upper and lower precincts.
National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) Principal Project Officer, Dirk Richards, said Ebor Falls had long been a beloved destination for visitors, due to its stunning waterfalls and picturesque scenery.
“Ebor Falls is widely considered to be one of the best multi-tiered waterfalls in New South Wales,” he said.
The falls are visited by around 140,000 people each year.
