A 79-year-old caravanner has been taken to hospital in a critical condition after a crash on the Bruce Highway this morning.
The man was in a van towing a caravan north when his vehicles left the road near and rolled into a flooded embankment connected to Six Mile Creek. Police still don’t know why the accident occurred and the Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
Emergency Crews extracted the driver from the vehicle before he was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
Northbound lanes of the Bruce Highway were affected for several hours while the vehicle and caravan were removed from the scene causing significant congestion.
Hoping there will be a good ending to this story ……. My thoughts are with our fellow Nomad.
