The 1770 Festival commemorates the day the first European tourists set foot on this land. On May 24, 1770, the crew of the HM Bark Endeavour, captained by Lt James Cook, took their first steps into what is now known as Queensland. The festival includes a foreshore re-enactment, followed by two full days of entertainment at the SES Grounds.
