Part of the Queensland Music Trails series of events, Light It Up is a chance to join the community in art and song at the Outback River Lights Festival. There’s also an opportunity to participate in free lantern-building art workshops, and then join the sunset street parade from the banks of the Warrego River to the stage. The evening’s festivities culminates in a light show and concert featuring First Nations singer-songwriter Emma Donovan & The Putbacks and Wergaia and Wemba Wemba musician Alice Skye. And the Barleyshakes Duo will also invite all those with voices, instruments, and stories to tell to join in performances and play-alongs.
