A caravan has been completely destroyed in a fire at Bilambil in northern New South Wales.
No one is believed to have been injured in the incident, and it is not known how the fire started.
Firefighters attending the scene at a rural property arrived to find the caravan engulfed by flames and had to work hard to stop the blaze spreading to surrounding grass and sugar cane fields.
“The caravan was totally destroyed and about an acre of grass and cane was burnt out,” a statement from the firefighters said. “A house on the property was threatened but the fire was cut off before involving the house.”
Tweed Heads firefighters joined Bilambil rural firefighters in the battle to stop the fire causing further damage.
