A car towing a caravan has crashed on the M1 Princes Highway north of Wollongong in New South Wales.
The vehicle flipped onto the concrete barrier dividing north and southbound traffic at Cataract, just past the Picton turn-off going north.
The accident happened around midday today.
It is understood that no one was seriously injured or transported to hospital as a result of the accident.
The Illawarra Mercury reports that the crash site has now been cleared and diversions have been lifted, but traffic remains heavy in the area.
Very unfortunate for all concerned, I hope that everyone involved fully recovers from this very soon and are able to get back on the horse so to speak.
From my perspective, it would be helpful if these sad stories could be followed up with some details regarding the circumstances leading up to the accident.
This follow up report could be published sometime later and the identities’ of those involved suppressed to reduce any stress on them
This may assist some understand the contributing factors behind the incident and therefore help reduce the likelihood of further accidents.
What you need is a dash cam…. It tells you date, time and speed.. If you are lucky enough to survive you can watch the replay until you understand what went wrong.. I placed one on the dash to record the countryside that we travel through and it turned into my silent witness.
