Yabba dabba doo! Edition 39 of the Grey Nomad Times is here! So, stop what you’re doing, grab a cuppa or a cold one, take a seat and enjoy yet another bumper seven-page issue.
This time around, we take a look at how the resources boom has changed the Big Lap … perhaps forever. And not just because it’s made it harder to find a caravan park spot in mining areas.
Last issue’s article on the cost of a crossing to Tassie sparked another avalanche of correspondence. We carry a two-page ‘Tassie crossing cost letters special’, as well as the usual page of letters on all manner of other topics.
We also meet a couple who travel in the ‘Pie Truck’, take a national park hike without leaving our chair, go underground in Coober Pedy, and our resident etiquette experts try to stop an eBay addict from selling the kitchen sink! And, of course, there’s our head-scratching quiz which includes a shock confession from our head quizmaster!
Oh, and in our Facebook fun section, we discover why wildlife can be a pain, and – if you like outback camping – some movies are definitely best avoided!
Enjoy!

On the topic of costs on the Spirit. ,spare a thought for us in Tasmania. We “have” to pay the cost to get to the mainland. We don’t have the luxury to go to other states instead. It’s time the goverment treated the ferry as a national highway and not a money making venture
