Grey nomads … where are your favourite attractions?

Published: June 9, 2015

Ubirr Lookout in Kakadu National Park has been rated as Australia’s top natural attraction on the world’s largest online travel review site.

TripAdvisor has named its Top 10 Travellers’ Choice Landmarks for Australia with Ubirr rated the number one natural attraction and 10th overall on a list topped by man-made landmarks the Sydney Opera House and the Australian War Memorial. Other highly ranked attractions include the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Faye’s underground home in Coober Pedy, and the Penitentiary Chapel in Hobart.

Chief Minister Adam Giles said Ubirr’s popularity is more recognition of how positively the Northern Territory was viewed by visitors from right across the globe.

“Kakadu is Australia’s largest national park home to ancient land with Aboriginal rock art, spectacular landscapes, waterfalls and exotic wildlife,” he said.

In the Northern Territory I think the Kuta Juta is equally as good and Le-grand national park near Esperence also outstanding with the Opera House as the man made one and as an apprentice I had the opportunity to work on its construction.
