Major improvements have been made at the magnificent Kalbarri National Park in Western Australia.
In the first phase of the $6.5 million program, major pathways have been sealed and a new boardwalk, linking Island Rock with Natural Bridge, has been constructed.
The Minister for Regional Development, Brendon Grylls, told the ABC that the improvements would help lure more tourists to the park, which is already one of the mid-west’s most popular attractions.
The work has been done as part of a three-year Western Australian Government program to boost tourism by improving roads and new infrastructure. The next phase is due to begin later this year.
Kalbarri boasts dramatic river gorges and coastal cliffs, and its dramatic wildflower displays also help to make it a grey nomad favourite.
