Hot wetaher warning for grey nomads

Grey nomads without air conditioning or access to an electricity source to power it would be well advised to park up next to a river, a beach or a swimming pool over the next few days with temperatures across the country expected to surge.

Summer is about to kick into high gear with an “unusual burst of extreme heat” forecast to hit Australian capital cities.  Melbourne, Adelaide and Canberra will be forced to endure conditions up to and over 40 degrees Celsius.

Adelaide recorded its hottest December night in more than a century last week when it reached 33C before 4am.

And senior climatologist Darren Ray said a six-day run of such high temperatures as those forecast for the South Australian capital had only been recorded three times during November and December since European settlement … in 1898, 1931 and 2009.
