Police are still investigating the cause of a caravan rollover in country New South Wales last week which left two grey nomads in need of urgent medical attention.
A 72-year-old woman and 64-year-old man were airlifted to hospital after their LandCruiser towing a caravan rolled on the Lachlan Valley Way south of Cowra.
The pair was trapped in their vehicle until Ambulance Rescue arrived and released them.
Cowra Police Inspector, Adam Beard, told the Cowra Guardian that police and emergency services were called to the scene near Morongla, approximately 15 kilometres south of Cowra, on Thursday afternoon.
“The vehicle is believed to have been travelling towards Cowra when the driver has lost control of the vehicle, resulting in the vehicle rolling and coming to rest upon the Lachlan Valley Way,” he said. “Both the driver and passenger were airlifted to Royal North Shore Hospital, with the most serious injuries being to the female passenger, who appears to have suffered from spinal injuries.”
The highway was closed for about two and a half hours following the accident.
All these rollovers, no wonder my caravan insurance has increased by over 17%.
Very true, but how many single vehicle accidents every day?
