Three missing prospectors have been found safe and well after a massive search got under way in the same remote area of Western Australia where two other prospectors disappeared earlier this year.
A 65-year-old man, his 66-year-old wife and their 31-year-old son were found by an employee of Inglewood station near Sandstone, 500 kilometres east of Geraldton. The trio from Boddington near Perth did not return from a prospecting trip as planned, and the alarm was draised.
Police said the family’s vehicle had suffered several flat tyres and they had remained with the vehicle until help came.
The location of the latest drama is just 60 kilometres south-east of Tabletop near where prospecting couple Raymond and Jennie Kehlet disappeared earlier this year. While the body of Mr Kehlet was found in a mine shaft in April, his wife has never been found.
