A popular caravan park in WA’s south-west has reportedly been barred from accepting any new guests after it allegedly breached council licence conditions.
PerthNow reports that the decision could throw the travel plans of many people hoping to stay at the Myalup Beach Caravan Park into chaos.
It says a prohibition notice seen by the Harvey-Waroona Reporter outlines an order given to park owner, Brian Swain, on February 15 by the Shire of Harvey.
The order bans him from admitting any new holidaymakers and from taking money from current ones.

“During the assessment of the annual licence renewal application and inspection of the facility, shire officers determined you are in breach of the conditions of the caravan park licence for the facility … ” the notice said.
The notice states the licence holder ‘must comply with all requirements’ of the inspection report, including submitting to the council a set of plans showing where infrastructure is located on the site.
PerthNow reports that a Shire of Harvey spokesperson said the recent inspection by shire officers identified ‘several issues’ including issues relating to the safety of occupants.
“The issues have been highlighted on the prohibition notice that’s erected at the caravan park office site,” they said. “No time line is associated with the prohibition notice, however, the current licence for management of the caravan park is due to expire at the end of April.”
It said the shire was working with the licence holder to bring the park into compliance to make it safe for visitors.
PerthNow reports that Mr Swain lodged a request for a State Administrative Tribunal review the day after the notice was issued. The first hearing between Mr Swain and the council is set to take place in Perth on Friday.
The park offers casual and long-term sites for tents and caravans, plus two and three-bedroom chalets with ocean views.

Yes typical of council yet pubs etc can offer free camping with no council regulations applied
The Harvey Shire own the park. He owns the lease not the park. Sounds to me he is bucking the system and if he doesn’t comply with council he will lose his lease at the end of April.
