Caravan park proposed for Moore Park Beach

Published: September 25, 2015

A new tourist park including 50 caravan sites, 70 cabins, and four backpacker accommodation buildings may soon be built at Moore Park Beach, north of Bundaberg.

An application is currently before Bundaberg Regional Council in what is “by far” the biggest proposal for the coastal town in more than a decade.

If approved, the new caravan park would be in direct competition to the only other caravan park in the area, the council operated Moore Park Beach Holiday Park.

“It will be good for the shopping complex, the tavern, the service station and the bowls club, for everything down there,” councillor Alan Bush told the Bundaberg News Mail newspaper.  “It will really put Moore Park even more on the map I believe.”

In the application to the council on behalf of ACM Corporation, Gracemere Surveying and Planning Consultants (GSPC) urban and regional planner Scott Lucke said there was a lack of short-term accommodation options for visitors to the Moore Park Beach area.

The application is still in its early stage with council’s planning staff yet to assess it.

it sounds like it could be a good plan and also a good thing for the shops and business in the area.\

The more parks the merrier. (excuse the pun)
