The Australian Head of State, Queen Elizabeth II, has died at the age of 96.
Britain’s longest-reigning monarch died peacefully at Balmoral Castle on Thursday afternoon, UK time.
The Crown has passed to her son and heir, Charles, who will officially be known as King Charles III.
The Grey Nomads would like to join the voices of so many others around the world in paying tribute to this remarkable and inspirational stateswoman.
Such kind words, I know not everyone is a royalist but she stood for everything decent and was a first class role model who devoted her life to my home country and indeed humanity. I feel I have lost a mother.
May she rest in Eternal Peace.
I was Four years of age when Princess Elizabeth became Queen Elizabeth ll.
We stood for the national anthem; God save the Queen.
My eyes have teared up numerous times today after I heard the sad news of our Queens death.
I wish Prince Charles, now King Charles lll all the best.
If he can do half the job his Mum did, he will have done a good job.
Not a position I have ever envied.
The best description I can come up with this wonderful person is “The First Lady of the world”.
And a great loss to the world.
