A camping couple missing in remote Western Australia for the past 10 days have been found alive.
Police called off the search for Jeremy Sim, 41, and his wife Marama, 38, on Wednesday but friends of the pair refused to give up … and were rewarded late last night.
The couple was found at Peak Charles, 200 kilometres north-west of Esperance. Police had previously scoured thousands of square kilometres of land.
The Sims had left their home in Esperance on Tuesday October 18 for a camping trip but failed to return home.
The couple reportedly ran out of food and lit fires to try to alert search planes to their whereabouts.
The ABC reported that they were towed back to Esperance to be reunited with their three daughters, aged between 10 and 18.
A police spokesperson said of the couple.
“Police have since sighted them and they appeared to be in good health and did not require medical treatment. They have thanked everyone for their assistance and are happy to be back with their children.”
